Andrew recently submitted his PhD thesis in post-1945 English Literature at the University of Oxford, where he is a Rhodes Scholar. He has written on literary and political topics. In 2015 he published Ruth, Roger and Me, a book that reflected on the effect of the 1980s and 1990s reforms on the lives and experiences of young New Zealanders
