IBM has commissioned a pair of short films to celebrate its centenary. “They Were There: People Who Changed the Way the World Works,” directed by famed documentarian Errol Morris, tells the company’s story through interviews with “first-hand witnesses—current and retired employees and clients—who were there when IBM helped to change the way world works.” The music is by Philip Glass.

The other film, “100x100,” feels a lot more like an extended advertisement: it catalogues 100 of the company’s achievements since 1911, told by people who were born in each of those years. (Glass’ music appears from the 11-minute mark on.)
