Isaac Te Awa (Kāti Māmoe, Kāi Tahu, Waitaha, Ngāpuhi) is dedicated to the revitalisation and documentation of Māori technique, practice, and knowledge.
He works as Curator Mātauranga Māori at Te Papa Tongarewa and has a passion for the reconnection of taonga Māori to people, place and community.
In his spare time he is an active practitioner and researcher of Māori weaving and carving.
