Delilah Pārore Southon (Te Roroa, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Kurauia, Whakatōhea, Ngāti Pukenga) is a Tāmaki Makaurau based writer, editor, creative producer, publicist, and visual artist. Delilah is an experienced media and creative professional; with a growing tenure of experience working across the media, publishing, advertising and creative industries. Delilah is tūpuna led and creating pathways to assist in the development of the Wāhine Toa narrative, and connect tamariki with their whakapapa through storytelling — her personal mission is to bring Māori voices to the forefront, and keep stories and tikanga from Tūpuna, Kaumatua, and Kuia alive and on record for future generations. Her writing craft is deeply rooted in the mysticism, intergenerational relationships, and wairua within Te Aō Māori. She explores the ethereal states of visual language as it seeps into dream sequences, sculpted by her passion for people, and mind mythologies. Nurtured by traditional Māori narrative, contemporary culture, alchemic curiosity, and the ways of bygone era’s; Delilah is currently weaving her old-soul daydreams on the intimacies of modern life into a book of essays and short stories due to be published early 2023.
