Oh my gosh, you guys! Okay, so, you don’t need to tell me how beautiful the aurora borealis is, or how incredible it would be to schlep it to the artic and bask in all its magnificent glory. No, no, no, no, no siree. But let’s face it: this dream has a price-tag, and a pretty unforgiving one at that.

Now, thanks to the internet, you can now actually have a taste of that dream without breaking your swear jar: The Canadian Space Agency, in collaboration with the University of Calgary, have recently developed an online observatory so that you can stream it all from the comfort of your bedroom (check out the gallery for some sweet time-lapse videos). Not quite the same, but still pretty neat (neat? sheeit, I'm in a Southern mood, I guess).
