Meet our storytellers and our MC:

Kanoa Lloyd is a weather presenter for Newshub, where her use of Te Reo has drawn the attention of the nation, for better and for worse ("Weird part of my job," she tweeted last year: "I now get weekly complaints about 'slipping odd Māori words" into weather."). It's something she'll be delving into in her story, along with the tricky question she's been asking herself about whether she's 'Māori' enough.

Harry McNaughton is an actor and writer based in Maungakiekie, where he grows fruit, keeps bees, and avoids wearing clothes. He’s worked in professional theatre since the age of sixteen, and has played everything from a captive monkey with gymnastic tendencies to a socialist polo player with an anger problem. In the TV world, Harry’s most well-known for playing the beloved Gerald Tippett on Shortland Street. He’s just returned to the show as a script editor, and has fond memories of free time.

Anna Jeffs is the director of Fox Private Investigators Ltd. She works on a wide range of jobs, from conducting covert surveillance to locating missing persons and working on high-profile criminal cases. Through these experiences, she's found that life is often much, much stranger than fiction.

Rob Mokaraka (Ngapuhi & Ngai Tuhoe) is the co-writer and actor of the award-winning play, Strange Resting Places, which has toured Australia, Singapore, London and most recently, Edinburgh. In 2015, he won Best Performance of the Year at the Wellington theatre awards and is currently co-writing a feature film and a new Māori comedy web series.

Having successfully assassinated his Downton Abbey namesake, Matthew Crawley is now perhaps best known as the guy who runs the music at The Golden Dawn in Ponsonby. He's also celebrating twenty years on 95bFM this year, sings his heart out from time to time with goofy punk band The Conjurors, and occasionally brings over his favourite bands from overseas under the moniker Strange News.
