We’re looking for a new Communications Manager

Come and work for your fave arts journal!

The Pantograph Punch is an online journal and a hub for smart, passionate conversations. We believe in the value of the arts, in developing and showcasing talented writers, and in enriching the quality of the critical conversations we’re having as a nation. We publish thoughtful and urgent writing interrogating issues related to arts and culture in Aotearoa.

Our awesome Communications Manager Vanessa Crofskey is off to lead Enjoy Gallery Wellington as their new Director, so we have a current opening for this part-time role.

Our Communications Manager is a vital member of our team and the voice of The Pantograph Punch on our social channels. Working in collaboration with the Director and the editorial team, the Communications Manager leads and continues to develop the marketing and social media strategy for the site. They coordinate and optimise The Pantograph Punch’s marketing channels, including generation of content that builds meaningful connection and engagement.

We are looking for a positive, proactive, arts-loving individual who cares about engaging audiences, loves the written word and believes in the kaupapa of The Pantograph Punch.

You will be flexible and happy working autonomously, and ideally you'll have 1-2 years minimum experience in a similar role. Alternatively, you may have been working in an arts production environment, have your ear to the ground when it comes to the cultural conversation, and you're highly social media savvy. Familiarity with email newsletter management and content management systems would be great too. There are some exciting upcoming opportunities to develop and implement discrete marketing campaigns with us, and really drive new methods of engagement.

All of our collaborative team work part-time hours remotely across the motu. As this role reports to the Auckland-based Director, it would be ideal if you were Auckland-based yourself, but we’re open to discussion.

This is currently a 0.4 FTE role (16 hours a week), increasing slightly to 0.5 FTE in 2021, and the salary is $50,000 (pro rata).

To apply, please send a CV and a cover letter with a bit about yourself, your experience, and what you'd love to bring to the role to Director Kate Prior at [email protected] by Wednesday 4 November. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions.

We look forward to hearing from you!
