Kate Prior

Kate is a writer, producer, dramaturg, and performer working across theatre and film. She originally trained at Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School.

In 2014 Kate wrote and produced short film Eleven, directed by Abigail Greenwood, which was selected to screen at over 15 international film festivals including Berlin International Film Festival and Melbourne International Film Festival. Eleven won Best Short Film Script and Best Short Film at the New Zealand Film Awards 2014. Kate and Abigail have recently completed a second short, Theodora.

Kate has worked as an Arts Adviser at Creative New Zealand and in 2015 she completed a Master of Dramaturgy at the Victorian College of Arts, University of Melbourne. She writes on theatre here and you can read more about her film company here.
